Historical fiction is made up of stories that take
place in a certain time and place in the past.
EX. A Boy at War, Across 5 Aprils, Ben and Me,
The Butterfly, Charlie Skedaddle, Sign of
Beaver, Titanic Crossing and Dear America
Series
Realistic Fiction is made up of stories that
could really happen. Contemporary realistic
fiction is set in modern times.
EX. Because of Winn Dixie, Crash, Owl Moon,
Shiloh, Summer of Swans and Babysitter Club
Series
Folklores include stories, myths, and fables that
people told one another over the years. Later
the stories get written down.
EX. Aesop's Fables, Beauty and the Beast, The
