• Endeavor worked closely with the Unicode
task force to insure…
– Implementation reflects appropriate standards
– Correct Unicode values are used
– Unicode characters match the MARC 21 repertoire
• Worked with the Library of Congress to test
data conversion
– First converted database delivered Jan. 15, 2003
– Out of 31.7 million converted MARC records (.5
million bib records with 880 fields), only 2100 errors
– Less than 1% increase in disk space
• Beta testing
– Ready to start June, 2003
