Procedures

English I & II
Truth or Lies
Divide into groups of three and decide which
statements are true and which ones are false. Each
group may only ask the teacher one question and they
may not ask the teacher a direct question regarding
one of the statements. Three of the statements are
true, and three are false.

• Students are not allowed on my desk
or behind it.
• Students will use inside voices only in
the classroom.
• Students will not talk while I am
talking.
• No gum, food or drinks allowed.

Daily Procedures
• Students will enter the classroom

quietly, sharpen pencils and get their
notebooks off of the shelf. Students
will be seated and begin writing in
their notebook about the topic of the
day using the CSRQ method.
Once students have completed daily
work, they are to select a book or
novel from the shelf and read quietly.
Return pencils to the student
workstation at the end of the period.
Leave all assignments in your folder
and place folders back on the shelf at
the end of the class period.
Make sure books are neatly placed
under the desk, trash is picked up and
desks are in order.
Classroom Policies
Restrooms:
• Students will go to the
restrooms between class
periods. If an
emergency arises,
students will ask
permission, and sign out
on the restroom log and
take the hall pass
labeled restroom.

When students are
tardy or late:
• They will need a pass
from wherever they
have been or they will
not be allowed in the
classroom. Skipping
class is strongly
discouraged.

need your attention:
I will ring the bell.
That means you need
to stop, look at me,
and listen.
About the chairs
• Don’t sit in them without permission. Sit in
a desk to complete assignments. These
chairs are for the purpose of having a
relaxed comfortable area for reading.

Make up Work and Missed
Assignments
• It us your responsibility as the student to
notify the teacher to get make up or
missed assignments. When you are absent
you have three days to make up the
missed assignment or a zero will be given
to you for the assignment.
Computer Policy
• No one is allowed on
the computers
without permission.
Computers of for the
purpose of enhancing
your educational
experience.
Inappropriate use of
technology is a
category II offense.

End of the day dismissal
• Students will wait inside the classroom
until they have been released by security.
• Walk on the right side of the hallway only.
• Clean up your work area and put all
materials away.
Cell phones and other Electronics
• IPods, MP3’s and cell phones are not allowed at
school. This is a school rule. If found they will be
confiscated and turned in to security. A parent
will have to come and get the item on the first
offense. The second offense, items will be
turned in to an administrator and a parent
conference will be held. Third offense, the items
belongs to Hamilton until the end of the
semester or school year.

2. Student Conference-The teacher and the student
will discuss behaviors and create a plan to resolve the
issues.
3. Parent Contact-If the behavior continues, a parent
will be contacted by phone and a
conference may be requested before the student is
allowed to return to the classroom.
4. Referral-The student will be referred for out of
school suspension or barred from the classroom.
