ExCEL Quality Action Plan 2014-15
What is it?
Quality Action Plan: a year-long process that includes:
planning/establishing goals, implementation, support, and
reflection
Why are we doing it?
The purpose of the QAP (Quality Action Plan) and related
process is to strengthen ExCEL program quality.
Who is involved?
The ExCEL QAP Team is comprised of ExCEL Staff, coaches,
and DCYF Beacon staff.

Articulated Goals and related practices in 4 areas:
• Academic: developed in partnership with the Academic
Liaison
• Site Defined Goal based upon data from Spring 2014
• Restorative Practices- cohort
• Physical Activity- cohort for middle/HS

The purpose of these visits is to provide supportive
feedback to help strengthen program quality.

SITE PROGRESS REPORTS IN EMS
By 1/30/15, sites will go into EMS and complete brief progress
updates for each QAP Goal:
Academic, Site Defined, Restorative Practice, Physical Activity
The updates will include:
1) Accomplishments,
2) Areas in Need of Attention,
3) Next Steps.
Site Meetings
Site Meetings will be facilitated by the ExCEL QAP
Team Members in February/March 2015 to discuss
progress on QAP Goals.
