Lovejoy HS Senior Project Standing Out In A Crowd Living the Profile • The Graduate Profile represents what “we” (the parents, the community, the district) want for each Lovejoy High School graduate. • The Graduate Profile is not fulfilled unless the students strive to embody all of the pillars of the Graduate Profile. Create Your Legacy • As members of the Class of 2011, you have an opportunity to leave a legacy for all those that will follow you. • How will your Senior Project affect the community, Lovejoy High School and the next generation. • We have been and are committed to walking the deck with each of you. Proposal Support Structures • • • • Support through LEAP group advisors Senior Project Support classes Research paper in English IV curriculum Faculty and community based-resources as both mentors and for juried panels for presentations • Senior Project Web based program to provide Senior Project note book , Parental Verification of Understanding, Mentor sign up, Judges sign up and Mentor Verification/Evaluation. Developing your Senior Project • Think about an area of interest or passion… • Think of a question that will drive your research and work… • Decide if your completed portfolio will reflect your work and experiences or your actual product… • Select a mentor from the community Senior Year for Students • Submit your Senior Project Letter of Intent and have your parents go on line to fill out Parent Certificate of Understanding e-form in September • Submit your SP Poster and have your Mentor go online to fill out Mentor sigh up form in October • Begin working on your research paper in English IV in October.
