Welcome to MSBIC! May 2014 MSBIC Who are we ? We are a PASS chapter focused on Business Analytics. Who is PASS ? While it is an acronym for Professional Association for SQL Server, today it is expanding its horizons as a Professional Association to serve the entire spectrum of Data Professionals associated with the Microsoft Data Platform to – Connect , Share and Learn. Who is leading this group? • • • Jeff Johnston – MSBIC President, Practice Lead at Artis Consulting Greg Taylor – MSBIC Director, Practice Director at Slalom Consulting Sri Sridharan – MSBIC Director, MVP , PASS - Board of Director , NTSSUG – Chapter Leader We get a lot of help from Microsoft and our local MS sponsor - Bryan Smith and from PASS Regional Mentor – Ryan Adams. Announcements 4 SQLPASS.org site – sign up for emails 5 PASS Elections The PASS Board of Directors has established new eligibility requirements for voting in PASS elections. To receive a ballot for this year’s upcoming Nomination Committee and Board elections, you need to update your PASS membership profile by June 1. Here’s how: • Login in to your MyPASS • Navigate to MyProfile • Update fields • Click on ‘save’ Have more than one profile? Login to the profile/s you no longer use and click ‘Deactivate My Profile’ next to the Save button. Need more information or have questions? Contact [email protected] Volunteering with PASS Interested in Volunteering? It’s now easier than ever to volunteer with PASS. Let us know your volunteer preferences, by updating the new “MyVolunteering” section of your MyPASS profile. Outstanding Volunteer Award The Outstanding Volunteer award is intended to honor peer-nominated PASS members who have shown extraordinary dedication and effort in service to the data professional community. Send your nominations to [email protected] along with why you think they should be recognized. PASSion Award The highest of PASS accolades presented yearly to a volunteer who has a made significant contribution to PASS and the global data professional community.
