2. Relevance of the Feasts to the Church
3. Relevance of the Feasts to the Kingdom of God
1
The Kingdom of God
Luke 16:16-17 The
Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until
John. Since that time, the good news of the kingdom of God is
being preached..It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear
than for the least stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law.
• The Kingdom of God is the eternal spiritual home
where Believers will live with God in infinite blessing,
provision, love, joy, intimacy & holiness as his children.
(Everlasting Kingdom)
•The Feasts reflect God’s plan of redemption in Messiah
as our path of faith into the Kingdom of God.
•Jesus taught us to learn from the Law how to Love God
our Neighbors and Ourselves. (Kingdom Living)

Genesis 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of
the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and the man became a living being.
‫ נשמת חיים‬nishmath chaiyim, the breath of Lives. Related
to Ruch which is Spirit or Wind found in Pentecost.
Genesis 1:27-30 God blessed them and said to them “Be
fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.
Rule over.
Genesis 3:24-4:1 After he drove the man out, he
placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and
a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to
the tree of life… so they would not live forever.
The Kingdom of God is God’s Eternal Presence
Diaspora/Judgment followed by God’s Promise:
Genesis 3:14-15 So the LORD God said to the serpent,
he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
Jeremiah 5:19 (Exile) ‘As you have forsaken me and
served foreign gods in your own land, so now you will
serve foreigners in a land not your own.’
Jeremiah 31:32-34 (Promise) This is the covenant I will
make with the house of Israel after that time,..I will put my
law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their
God, and they will be my people… I will forgive their
wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

Leviticus 23:1-2 The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to
them: ‘These are my appointed feasts (appointed times) of the Lord, which
you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.
Ephesians 2:12-13
remember that at that time
you were separate from
Christ, excluded from
citizenship in Israel and
foreigners to the
covenants of the promise,
without hope and without
God in the world. But now
in Christ Jesus you who
once were far away have
been brought near
through the blood of
Christ.

Feast of Trumpets (SHOFAR)- Rosh Ha Shannah
“Beginning” or (Head) Ha means “the” and
Shannah means “year”.
•The more common Biblical name is
“Feast of Trumpets.”
Lev.23:23-25
And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, In
the seventh month in the first day of the
month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial
of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation.
Yom in Hebrew is “day”
Teruah means “Trumpets”
so it’s the day of sounding the trumpets

• One longest and loudest
Tekia HaGedolah
1 Corinthians 15:52-55 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last
trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised
imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must
clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with
immortality.
Diaspora/Judgment followed by God’s Promise:

Second Coming

all. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations
to come, wherever you live. ..you must deny yourselves.
• Day the Priest could enter the Holy of Holies to atone for Sins of Israel
• The Priest went through a formal cleansing ceremony for himself.
• Then the Priest made blood atonement on the Alter for himself and then

from the Feast of God with us.
Leviticus 23:41-43: Feast of
Tabernacles
Celebrate this as a festival to the Lord
for seven days each year. This is to be
a lasting ordinance for the
generations to come; celebrate it in
the seventh month. Live in booths for
seven days: All native-born Israelites
are to live in booths so your
descendants will know that I had the
Israelites live in booths when I
brought them out of Egypt. I am the
Lord your God.

Traditional and Biblical practices of Tabernacles
On the first day, you will take for
yourselves a fruit of a beautiful tree, palm
branches, twigs of a braided tree and
brook willows, and you will rejoice before
the L-RD your G-d for seven days. Leviticus 23:40
We say a blessing a wave the lulav and
etrog in all six directions (east, south, west,
north, up and down), symbolizing the fact
that G-d is everywhere.
