What would you take and why?
We are the governing body for
interscholastic athletics in the state of
Florida. We are a not-for-profit
corporation that, while not appointed
by the Florida Legislature, cooperates
with the Legislature and the Florida
Department of Education in governing
interscholastic athletics.
FHSAA Bylaw 1.2
Purpose
Provides leadership for
the development,
supervision and
promotion of
interscholastic athletic
programs sponsored
by its member schools.
Participation in these
programs enriches the
educational
experience of qualified
student-athletes by
providing them with
opportunities to
compete in an
equitable,
sportsmanlike and
wholesome manner.

the FHSAA, thereby developing initiatives for
future improvement. Our goal is to promote the
advancement of sportsmanship and integrity by
fostering an ethical, safe, competitive
environment on and off the field.”

Inspired by Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA)
It was launched as a program to help promote sportsmanship,
teamwork, and fair play

Overview
Videos must be between 90 seconds and 3
minutes
Must also include at least 30 seconds of
discussion about why school should be winner
Cheers must be positive
Sportsmanship is the overall goal for this program
Submissions are uploaded to FHSAA website by
established deadline and YouTube playlist is
created with all of the submissions
Fans will be encouraged to watch all videos
and vote on favorites using Survey Monkey link
on social media sites
Choosing a Winner
Fans will be encouraged to watch all videos and
vote for favorite using Survey Monkey link on
social media sites
Fan votes will be divided by school population to
keep competition fair amongst large schools and
small schools
SAAC makes final decision on winner which will
be determined based on the following criteria:
Positive sportsmanship
Student body and Community participation
School spirit
Originality of cheers
Organization of the group/student body
Overall fun
Social media votes

October 13th: Introduce Program to
FHSAA Member Schools through email
blast and social media
Reminders sent to FHSAA Member Schools
through social media
Explain rules, criteria for videos,
submission requirements
Member schools will be able to
film student cheering section
during the Fall & Winter Sports

criteria will be uploaded to FHSAA

through FHSAA website headlines and
social media. Fans will be encouraged to
watch all videos and vote on favorites
using Survey Monkey link on social media

March 12th: Fan voting ends. Poll will be
taken off the FHSAA Facebook Account at
5 pm.
March 13th: Second SAAC Meeting of the
Year
SAAC will watch videos from all
member schools that have
submitted, critique using established
guidelines and determine winner.
