I have the great honour and pleasure to invite you to the UEMS ORL Section and Board Annual Meeting that
will take place in Ischia in October 1_4, 2009.
Refined and hospitable, Ischia is an island of volcanic origin, a sparkling jewel set in the Bay of Naples. Its thermal
waters have been a source of health and well-being since the times of the ancient Greeks. Thanks to its mild
climate even in winter, Ischia is splendid for a visit at any time of year, with enticing villages overlooking romantic
coves or tucked away in the woods.
Ischia is the point of departure for visiting the islands of the Bay of Naples, first and foremost glamorous Capri, or
the countless beauty spots along the Amalfi Coast.
It is connected by ferry to the ports of Naples and Pozzuoli.

Bagno Romano (Roman Bath) is a complete circuit that
lasts about one hour with all the basic elements: from
soffioni (steam jets) to water cascades, from immersion
in a pool of hot thermal water (calidarium) to a body
peeling (soap), from sauna and Turkish bath to
immersion in a pool of cold water (frigidarium).
The Wellness Centre offers a well-designed range of
beauty treatments for face and body that uses products
by the prestigious French maison Decléor, rigorously
natural and designed to help restore shape and beauty.

manual and mechanical massages assisted by modern,

AND THE ARAGONESE CASTLE

center where you can go shopping, visit the fishermen village
and the Aragonese Castle built in 474 BC by the GreekSyracusan to observe the movement of enemy ships.
In 1823 the King of Naples reduced the Castle to a place of
detention. Nowadays it is a unique museum on the sea.
