Aims of the HFG
The aim of the HFG is to promote the
understanding of the factors that
influence the enhancement of human
performance and the management of
error in all aspects of aeronautics.
Objectives of the HFG









Improving standards of safety by promoting better industry
understanding of Human Factors (HF) hazards and techniques for
dealing with them.
Providing communication and education on the importance of HF
matters, and on techniques for providing HF training.
Working with relevant worldwide agencies to achieve a co-ordinated
aviation HF strategy.
Encouraging HF research and development in aviation.
Working towards the achievement of the HFG’s aim through the use of
SMART Objectives.
Arranging a programme of lectures, conferences and mini-conferences.
Developing position, discussion and specialist papers.
Working with other RAeS Committees.
Providing practical “front line” advice, guidance and tools, where
appropriate.

MISSION STATEMENT
‘The Group will lead the industry in promoting
CRM within the cabin crew environment by
encouraging a practice that can be shared openly
between operators and collectively explore ways
that will encourage effective training that focuses
on safe and efficient flight operations.’
OBJECTIVES OF THE CABIN CREW
STANDING GROUP






To encourage operators to carry out effective training – to
optimise the cabin crew role and develop joint cabin and flight
crew training where appropriate.
To encourage the most effective performance of cabin and flight
crew when working together.
To increase awareness of national and organisational culture.
To encourage an open reporting culture.
To encourage development and sharing of training resources and
materials amongst operators.
To encourage effective, relevant and realisitc CRM training to
ensure that this can be applied to the aircraft environment.
