Compliance
 We believe strongly that a higher level of
compliance equals to a higher state of
safety. But:
 compliance is binary
 non compliance vary considerably in safety
impact.
 Collecting key data is essential

Propane
 Objective is to assist in every way possible to
help operators through a fairly complex
process.
 Disproportionate amount of effort and expense
incurred on propane.
 Only jurisdiction where the license is
specifically conditional on receipt of paperwork,
rather than approval of the submittal.
 Supportive of ways to gain efficiencies through
better operational practices, e.g. RIDM

Solid Incident Response Plan
 Well developed incident response plan.
 Tested regularly internally
 Tested externally every couple of years
 Includes a full “table top” exercise that
includes Ministry touch points.

What does the future hold?
 Fully exploit the investment in the new IS
system.
 Provide tools to inspectors to perform the
work quicker.
 Centralize the planning and scheduling
function.
 Improve connectivity.
