 Five Elements – Express Terms additional terms title, salary, hours, etc and – Implied Terms -employers and employees unspecified obligations – Custom and Practice – Incorporated Terms – Statutory Terms

Employment Issues

 Health and Safety – legislation and basic rules – review workplace and formal risk assessment – staff training – specific areas in general practice  Delegation – Releases time, increases interest and motivation, develop to full potential – summary of rules

Training

 Appraisal – allows opportunity to discuss performance and developmental needs – constructive interview and self assessment beforehand – encourage assessment of strengths and weaknesses and ways to improve – concrete targets and time scale  Training and Education – Regular with reserved time – Peer review is successful
