Re-teaching/Reassessment
If a student scores below a 70 on an assignment that is not
a CSA, guided reading rubric, a sight word assessment, or
and independent reading rubric, then they will be retaught
the information and then reassessed. When they are
reassessed, the highest grade they can receive that second
time is a 70. (i.e. If a student receives a 60 on an
assignment, then it is re-taught and reassessed and scores
an 80, the child will then receive a 70 for their final grade. If
a student gets a 60, is retaught and reassessed and scores
a 65, then that child will receive a 65.)
DRA

DRA is a state test that identifies
what each student’s reading
level is at that point in time.

Every student will be
given the DRA test at
the beginning, middle,
and end of the year.
Each student is tested
one-on-one with the
teacher.
TECHNOLOGY
LIBRARY






There are computers in the
classroom as workstations.
Hubenak has laptop computers
for the students to use in class.
Each classroom has a
Promethean Board that will be
used in lessons across the
curriculum.
There are a number of iPads and
other technology materials
available for teachers to checkout
in the library for class use.
The students will have a library
lesson every other week with the
librarian.
The students will have the
opportunity to check out books
weekly unless there is testing
going on throughout the campus.
Skyward Family Access


View your child’s grades online

Starting with the 2014-15 school year,
LCISD guardians will be able to make
changes to items such as phone
numbers, email addresses, emergency
contacts, etc., all online through the
Skyward Family Access Center.
Guardians will be able to make these
changes through Friday, September
19. After September 19, many of those
areas will be dialed back, but some
areas, such as email address, will always
be available for changing online.

There is a video on the Family Access
page of the district web site that walks
parents through how to make
changes. This is the direct




Each day every student begins on Green. If the student is doing more than what is
expected of them, they will have the opportunity to move up to Gold. Students that
move up to gold will receive a reward based on their grade level incentive program.
Students who are misbehaving will first get a verbal warning. If the student's
behavior continues, they will be asked to place their conduct sheet in the stop box as
a visual reminder of the undesired behavior. If the student continues to misbehave
while their conduct sheet is in the stop box, they will be asked to place their conduct
sheet on the teacher's desk and will receive a mark and move their color from Green
to Blue. If the student does not have any more misbehavior while their conduct sheet
is in the stop box, they will not receive a mark and will stay on Green.
If the student has another incident in the school, they change their color from Blue to
Yellow and a note, phone call to parents, or a parent conference may be
requested and a conduct mark will be recorded.
If the student has inappropriate behavior after several warnings and color changes,
they change their color from Yellow to Red and a parent conference will be required
as well as an office referral based on the level of the offense.
Conduct Cards will be at the bottom of the weekly Homework Sheet
and should be signed daily.
