Eligibility
Theoretically, any rising 9 th grader attending a Spartanburg County public school is eligible to attend.
Practically, only the highest-level achievers should be encouraged to apply.

Application Process
Student downloads (or obtains) application packet and completes all sections; applicants screened by a Selection Committee Student is called for a personal interview; Parent is also interviewed Student/Parents are notified of decision

All sections of the application packet are available online at the following site: http://www.uscupstate.edu/scholars_academy (alternatively, school district webpage link) Information as to where to send the application is available on the website.
Counselors may make copies to provide to students as well.

2008-9 Application
The student selects the candidates for recommendations.
Recommendations should be returned to the student in a sealed envelope.
Students should give the sealed envelopes to the guidance counselor.
The guidance counselor should gather all materials for the completed application and send it to USC Upstate
