The answer is that ALL of the photos were of
Brazil!

These photographs show what a diverse
country Brazil is. It has lots of contrasting
landscapes and has some very rich and very
poor people and places. During this topic we
will learn about many aspects of Brazil and it’s
people.
First things first then….
Here is Brazil, in the continent of South America
• has a very a long coastline
•Is 8, 511,000 square kilometres
•Has a specially created capital
city called Brasilia
•Population speak Portuguese
•Coffee is the most important
crop
•Much of Brazil is covered by an
enormous rainforest – the
Amazon.
•The river Amazon (the largest
river in the world) flows
through Brazil
The line graphs show us that it is
very hot in Brazil all year round.
What do you notice about which
months are the hottest?
As you can see by the blue
bar graph Brazil has a lot of
rain all year round.
Hardly anybody lives in
land due to the hostile
environment of the
Amazon rainforest.
The Brazilian people live crowd
around the coast where it is easy
to build and there are
opportunities to make money
There are some
very famous
Brazilians! Can you
think of any more?

Brazil is not without its issues!
Cutting down the
rainforest at a rate
of 20 football pitches
every minute!
Why are the Brazilians cutting down the rainforest?
To clear land
for farming
And to ranch
cattle
To mine for
precious minerals
To provide homes
and hotels!
