In 1970, Congress considered:

Encourage employers and employees to
reduce workplace hazards and to
implement new, or improve existing,
safety and health programs

employees, but does not include the U.S.
or any state or political subdivision of a

Used when there is no specific standard that
applies to recognized hazard

Meet the general duty responsibility to
provide a workplace free from recognized
hazards that are causing or are likely to
cause death or serious physical harm to
employees, and comply with standards,
rules and regulations issued under the Act

Be familiar with mandatory OSHA standards and
make copies available to employees
