Suggested Performance Class:
1 typical, 2 under certain
conditions.
Class 2
Suggested Performance Class:
2 typical, 1 or 3 upon certain
conditions.
Class 3
Suggested Performance Class:
2 or 3 typical based upon certain
conditions.
For Occupational Activities which:
•Permit full and undivided attention to approaching traffic
•Provide ample separation from vehicular traffic
•Permit optimum conspicuity in backgrounds not complex
•Vehicle and equipment speeds not exceeding 25 mph.
For occupational activities where risk levels exceed those in Class1 such as where:
•Greater visibility to inclement weather conditions.
•Complex backgrounds are present.
•Performing task which divert attention away from traffic.
•Close proximity to traffic and vehicle speed exceed those in Class 1.
For Occupational Activities which:
•Exposed to significantly higher speeds and/or reduced sight distances.
•Worker and vehicle operator have high task loads placing worker in
danger; or
•The wearer must be conspicuous through the full range of body motions
at a minimum of 1280 feet, and identifiable as a person.

When wearing a Performance
Class 2 or 3 jacket and a
Performance Class E pant
together the overall classification
for the Ensemble is a Class 3
