English – Persuasive writing
The children will learn about the
features of persuasive writing by
exploring various types e.g. posters,
leaflets, letters. The children will
then create their own persuasive
leaflets.
Poetry
This term the children will explore
various examples of rhyming poems
before planning and writing their
own short poems.

Topic: Victorians
RE
Why is storytelling such a good way
of teaching?
The children will explore different
stories from Christianity and
Judaism. They will consider the
lessons and messages delivered
through story as well as exploring
the Bible and Torah.
PE
The focus in PE this term will be
maypole dancing and bat and ball
games.
Computing
In computing this term we will be
continuing our work on e-safety.
Music
Music will focus on using storytelling
through music.

Why is honesty important?
Science – Habitats
We will be continuing our work on
habitats this term. So far we have
explored habitats in our school
ground and habitats of nocturnal
animals. This term we will be
learning about animals that live in
the seas and rivers, deserts and
micro-habitats. We will also consider
the importance of protecting
habitats.
Topic
Our topic of Victorians will take a
history focus. The children will
investigate how life was different for
Victorian children using the internet
and information books as research
tools. The children will then work in
groups to create a presentation on
this topic.
Art
In art this term the children will
learn about printing. They will
explore different ways of printing
before designing and printing their
own stamps.
