OLDEN DAYS!
Hundred of years ago Rochdale
was one of the richest towns in
Great Britain. John Bright had
made Rochdale rich and was a
very famous councillor in the
early 1900s.
Rochdale is the only town in
Great Britain that has a very
famous museum called
Touchstones.
Nowadays Rochdale is more
modern and has new properties
like the Metro link, bus station
and the new library!
The Town Hall is a very
famous building and it
is found in the town
centre.
It is used to hold
ceremonies, meetings
and weddings.
The Town Hall was built
in 1866. During World
War 2 Hitler wanted the
Town Hall to be in
Germany.
In Rochdale there used
to be a library that has
been upgraded to a
master piece. With the
library a river flows
next to it and that’s
called the River Roch.
The library is popular
and lots of people visit
it!
The Metro link is a
famous way of
transportation. The
Metro is a updated
version of the train. It
is also very fast.
The sixth form college
is a new college in
Rochdale and it has
been successful.
Broad field park is
very old. It has been an
historical interest. It
has put the greenery in
the centre of Rochdale
and it was first opened
in the early 1870s!
