Dear Dr. Harrison,
I would like to write to you a letter of appreciation thanking you
for all of the wonderful things you have done for Southfield Middle
School in the last two years. You have made a significant impact on our
school in such a short time. The whole city was well aware of
this when we won the Blue Ribbon Award last April.
I really enjoy seeing your smiling face in the morning as I am
getting off the bus. I always know when you are sick or out of town
because those are the only days I do not see you on the sidewalk.
I also liked how you have rearranged the lunch schedule. Prior to
your coming, students were eating lunch very late in the afternoon,
even as late as 1:45. With your new system everyone is finished eating
by 1:00, and the students are very happy.

I love it when you come to our Saturday 7th–8th grade
basketball games. We all seem to play a little harder knowing
you’re watching.
I know you work long hours at Southfield Middle, but I want
to tell you that it is worth it.
You have made our school a finer place. I hope you stay for
many more years.
Sincerely,
Steven Daniel
