Children will continue to learn the skills of
cursive joined script.
When they have established an fluent,
joined and legible style they will be given a
pen licence and pen to write with.
Children should be aiming for their best
presentation in all of their work.
Reading
Children are heard during group reading
sessions weekly.
In addition they may be heard read
individually by an adult in school.
Please support us by hearing your child read
at home!
We have a class award system for children
reading at home.
Maths
Children will work through the National
Curriculum objectives for Year 2.
It would really help if you could encourage
the children to learn their times tables at
home.
We will be introducing tables tests before
October half term.
Useful information!
Our PE sessions will be on Mondays and
Fridays – please make sure your child has
their PE kit in school at all times.
Useful information!
Home learning tasks will be set on a Friday
for completion by the following Wednesday
(starting this week) and will alternate
between Maths and English.
The children will be set one piece of
optional ‘topic’ related learning for each
term (i.e. 6 over the year).
