Next Steps Traffic Ghent Ave W. and Hager Ave.: • Speed limit reduced to 40km/hr • Signs will be posted in the spring • Both streets will still be reviewed for traffic calming • Residents will be notified of results Trip Generation Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation Manuals • Industry standard • 145 units = 60 two-way trips during the AM peak period • This volume, combined with current traffic volume, will be accommodated satisfactorily. • Minimum thresholds are far from being met for this intersection. Traffic Volume • Existing volume in AM peak hour = Approximately 100 vehicles (two way) • Capacity of a single lane = 800 vehicles/hr or 1600 for both lanes • In summary, existing volume is approximately 10% of capacity.
