Considerable investment in cycling - the actual trips by bike
hadn’t increased!
The Plan
• new and improved cycle routes to modern standards
• new facilities
– ‘Hub’ Station redevelopment scheme
– Pilot scheme to encourage bike to tram interchange
– Expansion of Big Track - including Victoria Embankment Castle Marina)

Key areas to improve and deliver on included:
– Improved infrastructure, quality corridors and better
connectivity

– Increased levels of travel planning and support for
organisations to facilitate the increases in cycling

• Leisure bridge across Trent and improvements to all

• Work with partners to assess the viability of a multipurpose cycle hub facility in the City Centre
