Why is it important to clean Kronos clocks and bio-readers ?
Kronos is United ISD’s official time keeping computer system that electronically tracks hours in timecards.
Finger Scans are used as a security feature to verify employee punches at the clock.
Kronos clocks & bio-readers must be cleaned to ensure: 1. employees are able to electronically record their time 2. employees punches and timecard inquires are secure via finger scans

How do I register the clock cleaning process ?

What is the CLOCK cleaning process ?
To clean the inside of the clock: Open case, use air-dust to lightly clear lint inside of the clock (do not wet the inside of the clock).
To clean the outside of the clock: Use Windex wipe, lint-free cloth, clean the outside of the clock case and display screen (do not use Windex spray directly on clock).
Note: Do not use chemicals: alcohol, benzene, or acetone. Do not use steel wool or any other abrasives.
They can DAMAGE the terminal.

What is the BIOMETRIC-POD cleaning process ?
To clean the badge reader: Fold a Windex wipe over an inactive badge, swipe the badge several times in the badge reader. (do not wet or scratch the badge reader).
To clean the sensor area of the biometric device: Use isopropyl alcohol towelette on the biometric pod fingerprint sensor to clean any residue .
(do not use Windex spray or water directly on pod).
Note: Do not use chemicals: alcohol, benzene, or acetone. Do not use steel wool or any other abrasives.
They can DAMAGE the biometric pod.
