Information about London
The city of London is the capital of United Kingdom. It is the country's largest city,
most populous metropolitan area as well as the largest urban zone in
the European Union. It was settled by the Romans in 43 AD. It has been the
capital since the eleventh century. The city is divided into two halves by the river
named Thames. Also there are thirty-two Boroughs in London. Some of them are
well known to every European. These include City, Westminster, Kingston,
Greenwich, Fulham and Chelsea. Since the beginning of the existence of the city
dates back to almost two thousand years ago, it's hard to characterize the
architecture of London's buildings properly.
