verb.

enquirers
Verb Infinitive
Verbs are action words.
All verbs start their life as
an ‘infinitive’. This is the
bare form of the verb with
‘to’ in front of it.
E.g.
to walk, to run, to think
Time to conjugate!
When the verb is ready to go
off into the world it has to be
‘conjugated’. This means put
into a tense and put in a
sentence.
E.g. ‘to walk’ becomes
I walked to the shops.
Activity 1: Conjugate!
Look at the sentences below. For each one there is an infinitive verb
that you need to conjugate. Rewrite the sentences into your books
with the conjugated verb.
1. I often (to run) in the park near my house.
2. They (to work) long hours last week to get the project
finished.
3. I (to eat) the most delicious dinner last night.
4. She (to read) her favourite book.
5. He was (to look) everywhere to find the answer.
Activity 2: Sentences
Take the noun and verb infinitive provided and turn them into
complete sentences.
E.g. Sarah/to sing = Sarah sang her favourite song for the
talent show.
1. Terry/to play
2. The team/to celebrate
3. His family/to reward
Want a challenge? Make all your sentences part of
one paragraph.
