Welcome Conferences
At August registration, sign up for a time to meet
with your child’s teacher before school begins.
Please bring your child to this meeting.
What is the purpose of this conference?
Ask any specific questions or address concerns.
Drop off school supplies.
Receive school-specific and teacher-specific
information such as…
snack time policies,
volunteer information,
start and end times,
daily schedules,
and contact information.
When will the conferences be held?
Welcome conferences are typically the first two days
of school.
In 2014, the conferences will be held September 2nd and 3rd.
There will be no 4K classes on these days.
How do I sign my child up for the bus?
Busing is available to take
your child to and from 4K.

What information do I need when I call?
When calling the bus company, you need to know…
The pick-up address for your child each day.
(home, day-care, babysitter, relative, etc.)
The drop-off address for each day.

How will children practice bus rules?
In 2014, September 2nd is “Bus Orientation Night.”
Children will practice boarding the bus, sitting
appropriately, and disembarking safely.
In the afternoon 4K program, Central-Denison also provides
an older student to take them safely to their bus.
4K Family Fun Days
On early release days (the 2nd Thursday of each
month), there are no regular 4K classes.
Instead, grown-ups can bring their child to school
from 9:30-10:30 for family activities, including…
Family games,
Art projects,
Math and literacy activities,
and Kindergarten readiness.

What does a typical day in 4K look like?

How does snack time work?
You will be asked to provide a snack for the entire
class two to three times per quarter.
For $10/yr., milk is provided.
What if my child is sick?
Do not send your child to school if they have a fever,
or have vomited or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours.

What can I do to get my child ready?
Read with your child.
Read fiction, nonfiction, counting, letter and rhyming books
daily.
Write with your child.
Have your child try writing his/her name in sand, shaving
cream, and with writing utensils. (Use a capital letter followed
by lowercase letters.)
Count with your child.
Count animals, flowers, napkins, anything!
Play with your child.
Demonstrate how to interact appropriately.
