Encouraging equal relationships, through its Literacy and Financial Educational Programme (LFEP) Improving communities & relationships between husbands & wives in Uganda through its Family Life Programme giving practical support to women experiencing violence in the UK and supporting women’s refuges. lobbying governments at the United Nations Commission on the status of women (UNCSW). Governments across the world need to work to: – Change attitudes to help prevent violence – Provide for the survivors – Enforce legal frameworks and guidelines • Throughout the world women and girls are subject to different forms of violence: physical; sexual; mental; emotional; neglect; human trafficking; forced marriages; prostitution.
