 previously submitted material,
 over 800,000,000 websites
 essays from cheat sites
 Provides a colour-coded 'originality report’ highlighting
text within the assignment that has been found at
another source, and provides links to it

 Is a complete service which we must use as is or not at all
 The University has signed a legally binding agreement to the
terms and conditions of the service
 Staff who want to use the system must sign
‘Document D’' to authorise iParadigms to hold personal
data, which are linked to work submitted by your students
 Students automatically give permission for use of this
system when they register for their course.

 Documentation University, staff and students have to sign
has been cleared with University of Leeds Legal Adviser
 We have, independently of JISC and HEFCE secured written
confirmation from iParadigms that they will abide by EU data
protection legislation
 If you are contacted by someone from another institution in
response to the system having spotted similarities between
work submitted at the two institutions, you must not give
any personal information whatsoever about the student at
the University of Leeds. Official policy is not even to
confirm or deny that anyone is registered at the
University.

 From our site you can access information and
documentation about the service including, from the JISC
website, an Instructor User Manual and a Student User
Manual
 To use the Univesity of Leeds account on the system follow
the link from our website to the registration form
 Important: Plagiarism detection software is only one tool
in a plagiarism reduction/prevention strategy - see links on
our website for other tools/techniques/information
