IVAN GROHAR AND IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING IVAN GROHAR AND IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING ART AND CULTURE IN IMPRESSIONISM Pupils: 3 a, 3 b (8 years) Teachers: Irena Peternel and Maja Rebolj Aims: to make a research about art and culture in the period of Impressionism; the accent is on the painter Ivan Grohar, after whom our school is named. Time: 3 months. ART AND CULTURE IN IMPRESSIONISM Activity description: 1. Talking about the name of our school and about painter Ivan Grohar. 2. Examination of the school painting Sower, (used tools and material, art technichs, motive). 3. Painting in the style of impressionism (Christmas cards and flowers in the vase). 4. The class exhibition . ART AND CULTURE IN IMPRESSIONISM 5. A visit of National gallery in Ljubljana: - examination of exibition of Slovenian impressionists, - taking parts in a variety of activities at the examinations of paintings (listenings to the sounds, searching for the objects in the paintings, searching for the shadows, examinations and touching of different materials, tools which was used); - painting a tree in the art workshop; - an exhibiton of the paintings in the windows near the main school entrance. Material: paper, tempera, brushes. Products: an exhibition of paintings. IVAN GROHAR AND IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING IVAN GROHAR IN THE PICTURES AND IN THE NOTES Pupils: class 1-3, Lenart School (6-9 years) Teacher: Nana Rupar Peternel Aim: - to learn about Ivan Grohar and his style of painting. Time: 6 months. Activity description: 1. Talking about the life of Ivan Grohar and examination of his work. 2. Visiting Sorica, his birth place and his memorial house. IVAN GROHAR IN THE PICTURES AND IN THE NOTES 3. Examination of larch trees in the vicinity of the school (from September to March) and discussion about the character of the larch tree. 4. Writing a poem (Macesni, Grohar in mi, lenarški šolarji. 5. Paiting –imitating the style of Impresssionism Sources: books, prospectuses, internet, old calendars. Material for painting: computer-processed proposal, wax crayons, colour pencils, water colours. Products: paintings, a poem. IVAN GROHAR IN THE PICTURES AND IN THE NOTES MACESNI, GROHAR IN MI, LENARŠKI ŠOLARJI Okrog šole so macesni, skozi vse leto strašno resni, na jesen v lepoti svoji žarijo, in nato vse iglice zgubijo. V zimskih mesecih počivajo in nam, otrokom, veselje vlivajo. Zato ni prav nič čudno, da v vsaki pomladi ponovno ozelenijo radi. Vse te čudovite spremembe so vabile vse likovne talente, kiparje, slikarje in rezbarje… Med njimi bil je Ivan Grohar, ki se z barvami je rad igral in nam čudovite umetnine dal. Po Groharju se šola imenuje, ki vsako leto v aprilu praznuje. Glasilo naše šolsko so Macesni, v njih zapisi, risbe in različne umetnine, krasijo šolo in vitrine. Tu, na Lenartu, je raj, vabimo vse vas, obiščite nas kaj! IVAN GROHAR AND IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING Pupils: 4/5 graders, Bukovica School (9-11 years) Teacher: Irena Frakelj Aim: to learn about life and work of Ivan Grohar. Time: 1 week. Activity description: 1. Talking about life of Ivan Grohar and his significance for Slovenian people. 2. Recognising his work. 3. Looking at the painting sewer. 4. Talking about characteristics of impressionist painting. 5. Impressionist painting - sport. IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING Material/sources: books about artists, internet; tempera, brushes, block. Product/result: paintings. IVAN GROHAR AND IMPRESSIONIST PAINTING IMPRESSIONISM AS A STYLE OF PAINTING - Pupils: 6 b (11 years) Teacher: Milojka Bozovicar (art teacher) Time: 4 hours. Aims: to recognize the value of art in the life of a human; revision of period of an Impressionism, a style of painting; to recognize the life and work of the painter – Ivan Grohar; to gain impressionist style of painting; to recognize the value of light in the paintings and mixing the colours. IMPRESSIONISM AS A STYLE OF PAINTING Art techniques: painting with tempera. Motive: spring. Activities: 1. Talking about the life and work of Ivan Grohar. 2. Detailed examination of a painting –a Sewer. 3. Painting with dots. 4. Preparations for an exhibition. 5. We altogether view the exhibition. Material: tempera, paper, brushes. Product: paintings, an exhibition. Pupils were highly motivated and they painted with delight.
