IV Edition – Spain - June 2007
Gorgs, the philosophy …
• Gorgs was born inside the Federation of
Alpinism and Climbing of Catalonia, that is
a region of Spain (http://www.feec.org)
• Its target is to let people discover the
canyons every year in a different region.
• It was organized to see how many people
in Spain were canyoneers.
Canyoning in Spain
• Spain has a lot of beautifull places to
practice canyoneering. From famous
paradises like Guara, in Huesca, to other
nice parts of the Pirynees, like Catalonia.
Gorgs 2004, the First Edition …
• It took place in a village named Sort
(Pallars Sobirà – Lérida – Catalonia).
• People: 60-70 people.
Gorgs 2005, a succesfull edition…
• It took place in a village named Coll de
Nargó (la Ribagorça – Lérida – Catalonia).
• People: 180 people.
Gorgs 2006, the consolidation…
• It took place in a village named Ribes de
Freser ( – Girona – Catalonia).
• People: 231 people.
Gorgs 2007, the birth of something
new…
• It will took place in a village named Tremp
(Pallars Jussà – Lérida – Catalonia) the
1,2 and 3 of June 2007.
THE INNOVATION
• The organization of this edition, will be
done for the first time in the history of
canyoneering in Spain, by a federation of
mountain and a federation of speleology.

• In November 2006, the FEEC (Federació d’
Alpinisme i d’ Escalada de Catalunya) and the
FCE (Federació Catalana d’ Espeleologia)
signed a document to work in:
