 Enhance ability of all K12 districts to collaborate, to share resources and to respond to the growing demand for bandwidth by weaving existing infrastructure into seamless digital paths throughout Michigan. 

Districts will retain control of their existing networks.

 Grant deadline ▪ Spend or return by June 30, 2014  Perpetual home for grant assets ▪ Own and manage fiber connections, leases, contractors, staff, contracts (e.g. pole attachment agreements).

 Governance Structure ▪ Setting goals and budgets. Legal requirements, managing liability, spearhead potential funding options, ownership of assets.

 Setting up a new entity  Create MISEN, a non profit corporation and consortium created under the MTA.

 TRIG and the newly created MISEN board enter into an inter-local consortium agreement.
