2011-2013 Rule Changes
• Summary
– Complete Details can be found on http://www.usahockey.com/
•
USA HOCKEY – BODY CHECKING RULE CHANGE
–
–
–
–
•
& AHAI.org
The rule change, in accordance to ADM, will promote and teach body contact starting at the
Mite level with increasing values from Squirt to Peewee, but moves the age of legal body
checking in games from Peewee-12U to Bantam -14U, effective immediately.
The important objective of this proposal is Safety
Examples of Body contact; Competing at the puck, angling to gain possession, or stopping
an offensive attack.
Elimination of the “Big Hit” in Peewees where players ignore the puck and try to ‘blow up’ an
opponent.
Delayed Off-Sides

Bantam /U14 and up

Players are not allowed in the ice without these forms
completed
