Open Door Policy
• Nothing too big or too small.

Timetable of week
• Mrs Besenzi – Monday to Friday except
for the following times:
- Tuesday afternoon: Mr Mills
- Wednesday afternoon: Mrs Harriss
Routine
• Children come into school completely
independently (no adults indoors
preferably).
• Being on time is vital!
• Please name everything!
• Encourage indoor shoes if outdoor shoes
are muddy/wet.
Parent Helpers
• If you would like to help, please ask to have a
(free) CRB - see school office.
• If you are skilled or talented please tell Mrs
Besenzi (e.g. can make cards, play an
instrument, work for the fire service, etc).
• Regular helpers will be chosen primarily for
school visits.

Teaching Writing
• Look at the Medium Term Plan overview
to see coverage.
• Times have changed – focus not
primarily on handwriting and spelling.
Lots of other features are the focus of
our sessions.
Reading
• Guided Reading Session – at least one per
week.
• New book scheme.
• Varied and greater breadth.
• Reading comprehensions and questions to
suit the book may be sent home from time
to time. Please complete with your child
and return in their book bag.
• Any lost or damaged books – we will ask for
the cost to be covered.
A little extra support
• Some children need a little extra
support.
• Mrs Besenzi will send home ‘I can do…’
books for the children to complete each
week.
• Mrs B will discuss this with you if your
child is chosen.

add/subtract mentally; begin to use x and divide.
Weeks 4 to 6 – Block B Unit 1
Securing number facts and understanding shape:

PE and outdoor learning
• Good to have this in each day of the week –
will be sent home on a Friday.
• Kit should include: indoor/outdoor shoes
(plimsolls/trainers), t-shirt, shorts, socks and
hair tie for long hair. Preferably no ear rings
(wastes curriculum time).
• A pair of wellies, rain jacket and spare full
length joggers (trousers) would be great to
be kept in school each day.
Swimming - essentials

Goggles (non-essential)
Girls: One piece suit
Boys: Trunks or shorts (far above the knee)
Pick up from Junior school gates at 3pm. Pick
siblings up from the infants after. Mrs
Besenzi will walk back up the hill at 3:05pm
with any uncollected children.
Water bottles
• Children need plain water to survive the
day. Please only bring this in, in a named
water bottle.
• If thirsty, children will form good
habits to drink plain water.
• No water bottles in book bags.
Notice boards
• Information for our class and school will
be displayed on these.
• As part of the Parent Forum, we will ask
for comments and suggestions via the
notice board. Please help us to get even
better!
Rewards
• Reward chart – children collect 20 stickers
on a book mark. Choose a prize then take
book mark home.
• Golden Time – sunshine and sad cloud.
- Children set their own rules.
- Following 3 warnings children will be moved
to the ‘Sad cloud’. Each time they are
moved they will miss 5 minutes. School
behaviour policy follows after this.
- Every adults adheres to this system in this
class.
