Hugo (still a German Citizen) changes the company name to the B. Elliott Group. During World War II, B. Elliott expands by acquiring other machine tool companies. Subsidiaries are opened in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and USA. B. Elliott Canada opens in Port Hope, ON. Newly appointed President Erwin Fischer then moved the company to Toronto. Elliott Canada expands across Canada, by purchasing established distributor companies. Elliott Canada begins to import and distribute machine tools from West and East Europe. 100 Years History of Elliott 1973 1975 1981 1981 1985 (Aug) (Sep) Elliott Canada is one of the first Canadian companies to sell NC machines. Elliott’s Special Machine Tool Group begins to offer Canadian “designed & built” special equipment for the Canadian market. Erwin Fischer resigns as President. Michael Carr was named President after serving, since 1973, as NC programmer and manager of Special Machine Tool Group. Shortly after the new management team consisted of Frank Haydar VP- Finance & Administration, Yves Juvet VP- Engineering and Vince D’Alessio VP- Sales & Marketing. Elliott changes its profile and begins to sell only CNC machines, exclusively representing a portfolio of “who’s who?” of machine tool aristocratic lines such as: 100 Years History of Elliott 1985 1988 1992 1997 2009 Today (con’t) Agie, Matsuura, Nakamura, Correa, Tacchi, and later Zeiss. B. Elliott Group sells its Canadian subsidiary to one of its main suppliers: Matsuura Japan Elliott purchases 3 acres of land in Oakville and in October 1993 moves into its new, employee designed, 34,000 sq. ft. building. Elliott Machinery Canada Inc changes its name to Elliott Matsuura Canada Inc. (EMCI) Michael Carr retires at the end of 2008, after 35 yrs with Elliott. (Refer to new Org. Chart) EMCI employs 65 people and sells exclusively across Canada, 12 of the “best in class” portfolio of complementary machines. EMCI Services are recognized as unequalled in the industry.
