1. Who are we?
• The umbrella body for 300+ members
• Everything from archery to Zumba
• Protect, promote and provide for the sector
• Five members of the policy team:
• Making the case for the sector
• Developing evidence-based policy
• Influencing government decisions
What is a Manifesto?
A manifesto is a document that publically sets forth the
principles and goals of an organisation in political nature
• It is designed to be widely distributed to the public
• It is designed to stimulate public dialogue
• It sets out the outlines and strategic direction of future
lobbying
• It is hoped that members of the public will seek out
more information about the group that wrote a
manifesto, creating a growing awareness of and
support for a movement
