Digital Signature Validation Process
Step 1

In the Form 16 document, which you will received from ‘<Ma Foi e-mail ID> ‘, click on
the Question mark - ‘?’ symbol on the first page of the document , highlighted in the
screenshot above.
Step 2
When you click the Question mark - ‘?’ symbol on the digital signature, the above
window will be displayed. Select ‘Signature Properties’ option as indicated above.
Step 3
Once you select the ‘Signature Properties’ option , the above screen will be displayed .
Select the ‘Show Certificate..’ option highlighted in screen shot above.
Step 4
When you select the ‘Show Certificate..’ option, the ‘Certificate Viewer’ window will be
displayed. Select the ‘Trust’ tab as shown in the screenshot above.
Step 5
Click on ‘Add to Trusted Identities..’ option available under the ‘Trust’ tab.
Step 6
When attempting to add to trusted identities, a security alert will pop-up; Click
‘OK’ on this window.

Under the ‘Trust’ tab,
1. Select all the options listed under ‘Trust this certificate for:’
– Signatures and as a trusted root
– Certified documents
– Dynamic content
– Embedded high privilege Javascript
2. Click ‘OK’

Click ‘OK’ on this window to confirm selections made.
Step 9

Click ‘Validate Signature’ on this window to confirm the selections made.
Click on ‘Close’ tab.
Step 10

The Question mark – ‘?’ on the first page of the Form 16 will now change into a
Tick mark and the page will appear as in the screenshot above confirming that
the document is digitally signed. Now you can take print
