Infertility Act 1995
Legal status of
donated sperm
2008 legislation- can

(socio-emotional wellbeing)
- IVF might not be supported
by friends or family
GIFT
-Is a legal procedure

GIFT occurs in the fallopian

role as in natural conception
so the embryo goes later into
the uterus than IVF

Adoptive
- Child no longer part of
biological family
- Full rights and responsibilities
- Allows others to share their love
- Fearful of telling child they’re adopted
- Sense of identity
Foster
- don’t have a legal say e.g.
education and health
-
Step
Parent
- Has no legal rights
- Doesn’t have to provide
financial support
- 2 parent family= more adults to care
for them
- Offer different perspectives for life
Surrogacy
- no legal rights over the child
(only birth mother)
- Surrogate mother can’t
enforce the agreement if
prospective parents back out
