to describe both persons and work
environments
• Believed a person is not just one type and
there are more than "only six types of
people in the world"
• Created a “test” to determine an
individual’s Holland Code
Holland Code
• Used to describe 720 different
personality patterns
• Determines only the two or three most
dominant traits
• Is also used to describe the
“personality” of jobs
• Allows us to match people with jobs
that will interest them
