What is Team Teaching?

Collaboration between two or more teachers who share responsibility for presenting a subject or theme in a single classroom.

If children are having trouble following these rules they will be given a verbal warning. They will then proceed to yellow-light if behavior continues. light will be given. Upon red-light either teacher to discuss behavior. Yellow-light is simply a warning, a reminder to the student to stop and think before he/she acts. • Can purchase lunch with money from account. Money can be added online to your students account or you can send in a check/cash. Milk can be purchased with account or with $0.45 • cash.

Tuesday/Thursday are ICE CREAM DAYS! Ice Cream is $1.00 and must be purchased with cash. Students CAN NOT use their lunch account for ice cream.

Goals of a First Grade Writer:

By the end of first grade writers will be able to write a one paragraph paper. We look for an introduction sentence, details and a closing sentence. We begin to introduce the idea of writer voice and stress conventions appropriate for first graders.

We encourage students to listen for each sound when writing words they don’t know how to spell.

During the editing process we will help students spell words correctly for final copy papers.

The expectation is that students are reading nightly for 10 15 minutes.

Birthday Celebrations!

Please, NO edible treats Other treats such as pencils, stickers or donations to the classroom (favorite book for library, a recess game etc.) are great ideas.

We will celebrate by making a birthday book for the birthday student.

We will celebrate ½ birthdays for June/July and August friends!

Students of the Week

Each students will be highlighted once during the school year . The weekend before your students week, expect the Student of the Week Packet. Please return on Monday.

Student can bring one book he/she has mastered reading to read to the class that week.

Student can bring in ONE photo of him/herself and or family to put in the showcase Two students a week will be highlighted.
