c. Reconstructed 3D model
Background of Face Modeling
what is Face Model?
- the way people use to represent human
faces
- point cloud, mesh
- a mapping from r-dimensional parameters to
n-dimensional face surface (n>>r!)
Background of Face Modeling
why we do Face Modeling?
- faces is the most important object in daily life
- lots of applications, including face animation,
computer game, etc.
How we do it in the PAST
Geometric model
- parameterize the changes of different parts
Physics model
- muscle-model is used to simulate the expressions
Statistical model
- collect face dataset, and use PCA to extract the
principal modes
how we do it NOW
I have no idea. But, we know some directions
- more realistic
- more realistic
- more realistic
Minimizing the gap between state-of-the-art
capture and modeling
Future work
More details
- wrinkles and folds
high quality
- 50k vertices maybe
more powerful
- expression transitions
- aging progression
Capture results, not Modeling
