BRITISH ISLES FIELD SCHOOL
2016. SPEND 3 WEEKS
IN THE U.K. AND IRELAND….

USED BY GEOGRAPHY MAJORS
OR NON-MAJORS - CONTACT THE
INSTRUCTORS (Harry Williams and
Matt Fry, Geography faculty) FOR
MORE DETAILS.
The field school will be in July of 2016. There are
5 base cities - Plymouth, Cork, Galway, Bangor
and Edinburgh (in England, Ireland, Wales and
Scotland).
In each city, you will conduct supervised one-day
human and one-day physical geography exercises
(examples: measuring cliff erosion near Cork;
historical geography of Cork city).
There is also a "free day" at each location.
Cost: Tuition and fees for 6 credit hours, plus a program fee
(estimated* total ~$3,800).
This does not include airfare (about $1600) or food (about
$20/day).
A competitive scholarship of $600 is available to Study Abroad
participants.
Many students stay on in Europe after the field school for
additional independent travel.
* At this early stage, the program fee is still being calculated.
Important elements, such as exchange rates, can only be
estimated. A finalized program fee will be available ~beginning
of the fall semester 2015.
