Taste of China
Confucius Institute at GROUP T
1. Can you see the Great Wall of China
from the moon?
2. How to show
the number 8?
3. What does this
sign mean?
A. For rent!
B. Wash me!
C. Watch out, a car!.
4. You get invited to a banquet at the Chinese
University where you are staying. They offer
you some Maotai (Chinese firewater) in small
toasting glasses.
Your host, on your left, raises the glass, and
invites your respectfully to join him for a drink.
What do you do?
A. You say: “I don’t drink.”, and you ask for some
orange juice.
B. You react to his gesture by taking a nip from
the glass without really drinking from it.
C. You react very enthusiastically, engorge the
drink and yell: “Fantastic!”. Then your call for
the waitress for the next round of drinks
D. You doubtfully look at the glass and think:
“What’s this crap?” and you refuse to even
touch the glass.
