Special Awards Judging Orientation Special Awards Awarded to the best project in each of the Special Awards Special Award Excellence in Astronomy Junior Intermediate Senior Canadian Acoustical Association Award Canadian Society for Clinical Chemists Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science Award CAP Physics Prize Carlson Wagonlit Award CSSE Engineering Innovation Award 2 Judging Process 1 Chair leads the team through the process Chairs the discussion • Three judges per team • Chair participates in the Special Award judging. • List of highest ranked projects will be provided by the Chief Judge Operations at about 2:15 pm • Judges have 8 minutes to interview the student, and 2 minutes to record their impressions. • Judges work alone. • Do not interrupt Interdisciplinary Award judging which is scheduled. You are free to listen in. 3 Judging Process 2 • Keep to time! • Meet as a team to decide your final results by consensus. • Ensure all team members get a voice • Give final results to the Chief Judge Operations. • Put all the paperwork into the box on the table of the Chief Judge Operations • Participate in Celebration Judging 4 Timetable From (pm) To (pm) Event 2:15 2:30 Meet at your Special Award Judging Table. Receive the top ranked projects from the morning’s judging from the Chief Judge Operations. Fill in top three projects to interview on your Judging Form 2:30 3:30 Interview your projects for 10 minutes 3:30 4:00 Meet at your table. Decide on final ranking by consensus. 4:00 Report Final Results to Chief Judge Operations.
