Title I – Improving the Academic
Achievement of the Disadvantaged
Title I of the Elementary and Secondary
Education Act (formerly No Child Left
Behind) is a federal grant that provides funds
to schools to ensure that all children have a
fair, equal, and significant opportunity to
obtain a high-quality education and reach
proficiency on Ohio’s challenging academic
achievement standards and assessments.
Title I funding is awarded to schools with high
percentages of low-income families.
Last year, 100% of our students were classified as
economically disadvantaged.
Title I funds may be used for:
Staff Salaries
Professional Development
Instructional Materials
Resources to Support Educational Programs
Parental Involvement Promotion
Who Can Receive Title I Services?
Imagine Clay Avenue is a School-Wide Title I
school, which means that ALL students are
eligible to receive Title I services!
Title I Teachers will provide interventions and
additional support to students who are at risk
of not meeting the academic standards in the
areas of reading and math.
The Budget
Imagine Clay Avenue funds
may be spent on:
Teacher Salaries
Computers on Wheels
After School Tutoring Program
Summer School Program
Transportation
Supplemental Instructional Materials
Parent Compact
The Parent Compact outlines how parents, the
entire school staff, and students will share the
responsibility for improved student academic
achievement, and the means by which the
school and parents will build and develop a
partnership that will help children achieve
Ohio’s high academic standards.
Parental Involvement Policy
The Parental Involvement Policy outlines how
Imagine Clay Avenue will inform parents and
promote their involvement in their children’s
educational experience.
Will be distributed at Parent/Teacher
Conferences on November 7th.
Parent Needs Assessment Survey
Purpose:
To identify barriers to greater
participation by parents in school activities
To determine ways to increase parental
involvement in school activities
