Two Funds, One Mission: Proclaiming Christ in Word and Deed

Presbyterians Sharing

supports the overall mission and ministry of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Congregations commit to raising an accepted allocation each year. The budget for 2013 is $8 million.

Presbyterian World Service & Development

is the PCC’s development and relief agency. PWS&D raises funds directly from congregations and individuals and through government (CIDA) grants – over and above gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing.

Helping orphans and vulnerable children

Gifts to PWS&D support children’s corners in Malawi – places where orphans and vulnerable children can go to play, share their experiences, and receive a warm meal under the care of trained volunteers.

Serving the Korean community

Presbyterians Sharing

supports Nova Scotia Korean Mission in Halifax, the only PCC ministry in Atlantic Canada that is reaching out to Korean immigrants and students.

Working for water

In areas where water is severely limited, PWS&D and local partners are digging new wells and boreholes, installing water storage tanks at schools and building household latrines.

Opening hearts to refugees

Your gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing

help Action Réfugiés Montréal to support and advocate for the rights of refugees in Canada .

Mission Trips – a spiritual journey

A mission trip can transform lives. Gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing

help send mission groups by providing them with expert planning, administration and leadership to help them connect with long-term mission partners and visit projects and programs supported by PWS&D and

Presbyterians Sharing.

Building healthier futures in Nicaragua

PWS&D is working in 17 communities in Nicaragua to improve farming practices, introduce new fruits and vegetables into family diets, and train community health volunteers. With better health and more food, communities can overcome hunger and break cycles of poverty.

AIDS education in Kenya

Gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing

support Dr. Rick Allen, a community health physician serving the Presbyterian Church of East Africa. Rick teaches at the Presbyterian University of East Africa and helps with the Church’s ongoing HIV and AIDS training courses.

Food gives peace of mind

In partnership with the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, PWS&D responded to a food shortage in the Balaka region of Malawi by providing 5,000 households with emergency food packages between October 2012 and March 2013.

Equipping children and youth

Gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing

help Toronto’s Flemingdon Gateway Mission to serve children, youth and their families through homework support, leadership development, health and nutrition programs, structured activities and sports.

Empowering women and investing in positive change

In partnership with Canadian Foodgrains bank and local partners, PWS&D is enabling women in Afghanistan to earn an income, help overcome malnutrition, and contribute to household decision making.

Serving God through music

Through the work of English and music teacher Brian Johnston,

Presbyterians Sharing

is helping students at the Theological Seminary of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Cluj, Romania to learn English and share the gospel message through song.

Limitless Possibilities

Fati can’t walk, but this hasn’t stopped her from achieving success in her life. PWS&D supports a vocational training program at the Garu Community Based Rehabilitation Center in Ghana, where Fati learned to sew and is now a sought-after seamstress operating her own business.

Engaging with students

The University of New Brunswick’s campus ministry is sharing authentic Christian spirituality with students in accessible ways. A Facebook page, a blog and a bi weekly column in the university’s student publication help connect students with God.

Our gifts to

Presbyterians Sharing

and Presbyterian World Service & Development support mission and ministry in Canada and around the world!
