• The number of foundations increased 35% from 2010

in economic crises • Americans have increased their donations to charity in
39 of the past 40 years
• American foundations have kept giving at 98% during
the last 3 recessions

What are Grants?
• Grants are awards of money given by a
government agency, foundation,
corporation or other entity to fund a
particular project
• Grants are not contracts for work or
products.
• Generally given to organizations as
opposed to individuals
