Our Next Step - BYOD
Bring Your Own Device is a popular and
expanding phenomenon in American
schools.
BYOD refers to technology models
where students bring a personally
owned device to school for the purpose
of learning.
What kind of access will
students have?
 Internet access similar to what they have
when they log on to a school computer.
 We have GCPS devices in classrooms.
 BYOD is simply a method of putting more
devices into students’ hands.
What about security?

Final Thoughts
We are all learning together!
BYOD is not something that will happen
every day and in every classroom (at least
not right away)…teachers will use it when it
serves a purpose.
Please be patient as the teachers learn how
to best implement devices using BYOD.
Every teacher will look different in terms of
their use of BYOD.
Next Steps
Each
student/parent
must complete
the Personally
Owned Devices
(PODs) Release
Form before
students can
bring in a
device.
