BYOD
(Bring Your Own Device)
Our Next Step - BYOD
Bring Your Own Device is a popular and
expanding phenomenon in American
schools.
BYOD refers to technology models
where students bring a personally
owned device to school for the purpose
of learning.
What kind of access will
students have?
Internet access similar to what they have
when they log on to a school computer.
We have GCPS devices in classrooms.
BYOD is simply a method of putting more
devices into students’ hands.
What about security?

Final Thoughts
We are all learning together!
BYOD is not something that will happen
every day and in every classroom (at least
not right away)…teachers will use it when it
serves a purpose.
Please be patient as the teachers learn how
to best implement devices using BYOD.
Every teacher will look different in terms of
their use of BYOD.
Next Steps
Each
student/parent
must complete
the Personally
Owned Devices
(PODs) Release
Form before
students can
bring in a
device.
