Specific Local Objectives -Goal 2 (Education) Goal 2LOS 3 Goal 2LOS 4 • To promote and increase access to opportunities for learning and development as a gateway to participation and progression to achieving formal qualifications. • To promote an holistic approach to participation in education and training. Goal 3 – Specific Local Objectives (Employment) • To develop and deliver supports and programmes Goal 3for the unemployed which increase employability LOS 5 • To develop and deliver supports for local enterprises and emerging sectors and assist in Goal 3increasing employment opportunities LOS 6 • To create an environment of support for the long Goal 3term unemployed to enter into self employment LOS 7 Goal 4- Specific Local Objectives (Policy Development) Goal 4LOS 8 Goal 4LOS 9 • To build relevant linkages and increase participation of target group representation across the range of information and service providers in the Peninsula, County, Nationally and Cross Border. • To facilitate the development of social capital by building the capacity of groups through the promotion of networking and information sharing on best practice including participatory planning and consultative approaches to policy development. This group represents 35% of the Inishowen Population. Lone Parents - influenced by small maps data and location according to higher concentrations of lone parents. Unemployment supports – targeted at long term unemployed according to concentration of unskilled manual labourers and small holders most likely at risk of cumulative effects of long term unemployment. Education Supports – focused on the areas of lowest educational attainment in order to break the familial cycle of leaving the education system prematurely. Disadvantaged Women – concentrating on those not currently participating in community structures, those most at risk of isolation including carers, early school leavers and those made redundant from the textile industry. Disadvantaged men – promoting positive mental health in local communities. Those who traditionally have not accessed formal supports. Youth at Risk – following from our engagement with Youthreach, Garda Liaison Officer, Community Based youth infrastructure, work in local authority housing estates, IFAN, School Completion Programme , Health promotion unit, HSE and Strengthening Families – these are identifiable through our on the ground work and community neighbourhood approach. People with Disabilities – based on highest concentration of carers mapping.
