Labs = hands on
Several lab sections (section Ax) so that you have
access to all the necessary equipment and enjoy
better prof:student ratios


At Algonquin, labs start on day 1

At Carleton, labs do not usually start until the 2nd or
3rd week…
◦ unless specifically informed otherwise
◦ verify with each course instructor

Carleton student card:
◦ 407 University Centre
◦ Can be used almost everywhere on campus

Algonquin student card:

Allows you to enjoy facilities at both
campuses…
◦ Get proof of BIT student status from Algonquin’s
Registrar’s Office
◦ Take that and your Carleton student ID card to
room C044 to obtain an Algonquin student ID card


No; at your option, you can write the official
Cisco Certification exams.
Best practice:
◦ Write your exam as soon as you can, while the
details are still fresh in your memory.
 Write your CCNA after 2nd year
 Write each CCNP test (3 in total) shortly after
completing the corresponding NET course in 3rd and
4th year.


Most students will still use their own laptop
during the lectures and labs.
